Manali (A gift of Himalyas to the world)

Manali is a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in India's northern Himachal Pradesh state. October to February is the winter season and is considered to be the best time to visit Manali if you like the cold and January is best to enjoy the chilly pleasure of fresh snowfall . Manali is a resort and tourist town in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is situated in the northern end of the Kullu Valley, formed by the Beas River. Travelling through bus, booking bus ticket online will be convenient for travellers. You can explore a lot while traveling through bus . Online bus reservation for travelling to Manali will be cheap in price.

One of the most popular hill stations in himachal, manali offers the most magnificent views of the pir panjal and the dhauladhar ranges covered with snow for most parts of the year.

Hadimba Temple, Manali which is also known by the names Hidimba Devi Temple and Dhungari Temple, this ancient shrine was built by Maharaja Bahadur Singh way back in 1553. The temple is surrounded by a cedar forest called Dhungiri Van Vihar at the foot of the Himalayas.

The place is a famous hill station offering different sites to visit and activities to do.

Some of my recommendations are:

Hidimba Temple

The temple is dedicated to Hidimba Devi, wife of Bheem ( one of the Pandavas). The temple was built in 1553 by a Maharaja named Bahadur Singh. The temple is surrounded by beautiful cedar trees and is built over a huge rock. The temple contains the feet of the Goddess Hidima carved on a block of stone. The residents of Manali worship Goddess Hidimba wholeheartedly, especially during Navrati

Mall Road

If you love shopping, exploring street foods and buying souvenirs, Manali’s Mall Road is ideal for you. it a long road with shops on each side displaying various kinds of clothing, food items, toys, etc. You can buy special Pahadi clothes, pottery items, jewelry etc.

Jogini Falls

A beautiful waterfall named after Goddess Jogini, worshipped in Manali. The place is therefore a symbol of Female Power and hence is called “Shakti Peeth”. You can take a dip in the cold water or make offering at the main temple. The place is sacred for the residents and gives a sense of peace and freshness.

Rohtang La(pass)

If you’re a snow-lover you should definitely try visiting Rohtang Pass. At a height of about 13,000 ft, it is a mountain pass on the eastern side of pir panjal Range of Himalayas. You have to book tickets a day before and buses are provided to reach from mall road to the destination. Many bike riders take to root from Rohtang Pass to visit Ladakh.

Museum of Himachal Culture and Folk Art

If you love to explore the heritage of places and want to know more about the cultures that are no longer practiced, you should definitely visit this museum to know more about historical Himachal. The museum showcases the models of temples, traditional dresses, rituals, old houses and forts and much more.

You can rent scooty or bikes and can visit the nearby places like hot springs, monastery, Tibetan market with your friends and family.
